Today with Powershell – Monday 18th May, 2015

Today had lots of PowerShell. I added computer accounts to groups, then I built a script to help deploy an Appx package leveraging XML, the Windows SDK command line utilities and System.IO.Compression.FileSystem. Basically the script unpacks an Appx file (which is a zip file), renames some files, modifies the manifest xml file, repackages the files into a new Appx, then signs the Appx with a trusted certificate.

Why do I have to go to all this trouble with a perfectly good Appx? (Some) Developers don’t think about Enterprise IT.
