You may be wondering why I post about PowerShell.
I’ve been working with PCs running Windows since the 1990s. During that time I have used a variety of different technologies to automate processes: BAT or CMD files, VBScript, Kixtart. Eventually Jeffery Snover and others at Microsoft came up with PowerShell, a truly modern command shell and scripting language. PowerShell gives me a straight replacement for the old DOS-style command prompt, an interactive script editor and access to the .Net framework. There is a version of PowerShell for all versions of Windows starting with XP. If you need to automate any process on Windows Clients and Servers then you should be looking at PowerShell.
